Public Speaker, not me!

Back in March, my friend Holly Hanson sent me an email asking if I would be able to come down to her church (our former church) and speak to her moms group, Moms Inc. Her topic was "The Secrets of Moms of Multiples". To be completely honest, my initial reaction was "No way!! I HATE speaking in public!!". But of course I would never let a friend down for something silly like my mortifying fear! ;) So I checked my calendar to see if the date would work and darn it, wouldn't you know, my brother and his family were going to be visiting during that time! Shoot! If you can't tell, I was feeling really bummed about not being able to get up in front of a bunch of strangers and talk about myself as a mom of multiples and my "ehhemm" secrets to success.....NOT! :)  So I emailed Holly back to let her know the "bad" news and thought I had dodged the bullet.  Not so as Holly promptly responded and let me know that we could change the date...greeeaaaat!  So with no other "excuses" to not go, I agreed to do it.  I was so nervous to speak in front of a bunch of moms...what do I have to talk about or offer?  I just survive day to day, moment to moment, nothing too profound there, haha!  Long story short, I asked Holly to email me some questions ahead of time so that I could think about my answers instead of being put on the spot.  The day went great and I actually felt pretty comfortable sitting in front of the other ladies being interviewed by Holly.  I felt like maybe, through sharing some of my experiences, these other moms were getting something, whether it was the reassurance that their feelings are normal, they (or their kids) are not crazy :), or just that support that we can feel knowing there are other people going through the same things we are and seeing that it is doable.  It was very rewarding, especially being able to step out of my comfort zone and realize that it's not so scary after all!

Holly asked me to bring some pictures to share as well so here is what I took.  I didn't know how many she wanted so I brought a lot! :)
