Date Night

It's so nice to be able to get out without the kids every now and then and reconnect with your spouse. Thanks to some secret planning and the help of my mom, Chris planned a fun night out for the two of us. My mom came down to our house this weekend so she and I could go to the Tour of Gymnastics Stars in Des Moines...which was great!!

While she was here, Chris enlisted her help in babysitting the boys so we could go out, although he wouldn't tell me where we were going or what we were doing. We started out the night with a fun shopping trip to Menards (romantic huh?!). Actually that wasn't part of his plan, I added that part! :) We bought a new light for our living room...it was so great to be able to take our time and look at things without feeling rushed by an imminent meltdown from one of the boys!

Then we were off to our first destination....a wonderful dinner at Olive Garden! Yummm! Unfortunately we got there at 5:45 and there was an hour wait!!! Since we had to be to our next destination by 7:30, we decided to find somewhere else to eat! We were both bummed since we haven't eaten at Olive Garden in so long and were really looking forward to some yummy Italian food! We ended up at our favorite restaurant Red Lobster and had a really delicious meal and a great waiter. It was definitely worth the trade!

Finally for the last part of my surprise night out, we went to see the movie Fireproof! I had been wanting to see it since it first came out. It was a great movie with a great story line and a definite message of God's love and salvation for our lives and marriages. I would recommend everyone go see it!

It is so important to get out together as a couple whenever you can and remember who this person is that you married and why you married them. Sometimes in the everyday routines of our lives we get so busy that we forget to take care of the person that means the most to us.

Thanks mom for helping us relax and spend some quality time together! We love you!

YOU'RE WELCOME, BABY GIRL. THANKS FOR ENTRUSTING YOUR PRECIOUS BOYS TO ME FOR SOME "GRANDMA TIME". I'M STORING UP MEMORIES FOR THE FUTURE WHEN I WON'T GET AS MUCH TIME WITH THEM. MY PHOTO COLLECTION WILL BE WELL USED THEN!
IT IS SO FUN FOR ME TO SEE YOU & CHRIS HAVE TIME TOGETHER "ALONE".
