If you come to my house, you will find that the living room is toddler land...which is not a problem for me. This is the area that is designated for the boys to play in. Its where all their toys are and they are free to make a mess and play. However, you will also notice that there are gates everywhere (my mom says that the boys live in a "gated community")! There are gates at each doorway into the kitchen, one in their bedroom doorway and two large gates that are blocking off the tv and fireplace and the desk and bookshelf. Also, I have empty end tables and the coffee table has the glass center removed. There are no lamps, no books, decorations, pictures....nothing "nice" sitting around where little hands can reach. Like I said its toddler land. This is where my frustration and discouragement comes in.
When I visit other peoples homes who also have children, I look around and notice there are no gates except maybe one at a stairway. They have things on their tables and their "nice" things within reach and yet, their children don't bother any of it. My boys on the other hand get into everything...and I mean everything, as you can tell by the pictures!!! I wonder, how come their kids don't mess with things?" And I wonder when I will ever be able to put my "nice" things back out to enjoy again?!

you are not alone and your kids are not unique in the way they get into stuff ALL the time :-) I know how it feels to just say no all day long...it is ok to be frustrated!!! it seems like everything in their lives is one phase after another...this will pass soon! i love you and i miss you so much! hang in there!
What a GREAT blog! So real, and so sweet! Your boys are adorable. Having a son myself, I can only imagine how active your boys must be. My son keeps me on my toes and climbs things I would never have imagined!
Thank you so much, Debbie, for your totally sweet comment on my blog. I am so glad you commented!
How do you know Kelli?
Also... I make my own blog backgrounds, but I have found 2 GREAT websites with free blog backgrounds... http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com and http://www.aquapoppydesigns.blogspot.com/
they have some great stuff!
Hope to hear from you again sometime!
Hi Debbie. Can you email me... I think it would be an easier way to discuss blog stuff. I would be HAPPY to help you!

p.s. the little wrench icons only show up on your blog when you are signed in. No one else sees that. If you sign out of your blog and then look again, you won't see them.
i think my mother would confirm that little boys climbing into, onto, and through small spaces is nothing out of the norm. and sometimes removing anything that can be bit or broken from a room is just good sense.
